This meditation is designed to encourage opening awareness to the felt sense in all its variations. When we have chronic pain we have a tendency to try to cut off our senses, something that invariably doesn’t work!

With this meditation we can begin to rewire our brains, reminding ourselves that we can feel more than one thing at once, and that experiencing pain doesn’t mean we can’t also experience pleasure. With practice we can train our consciousness to focus on a variety of sensations rather than just the pain, limiting its damaging impact on our experience and our daily lives.
