How to Live With and Manage Chronic Pain

As a chronic pain survivor myself, I know how hard it can be to stay positive and manage to get the most out of life. It’s a constant struggle and anyone in this position really does need all the help they can get. I’ve seen so many pain management courses, books, and endless articles full of advice that seem to have been put together by someone who’s never had to deal with the daily struggles constant pain can bring.

I’m not going to make any outlandish claims about being able to make your pain disappear, and I know that for many people it’s a condition that they’ll have to some extent for the rest of their lives. But I also know that there are things that can make a difference. I know this because I’ve seen the scientific evidence, and I know it because they’ve helped me! There are things out there that can make a difference to us all – we just have the find the mix that works for us – and the practices and exercises in our How to Live With and Manage Chronic Pain package are a great place to start. A little bit of this, a little bit of that,… together they may just make enough of an impact to allow a significantly better quality of life – and we all deserve that.

We’ll be sharing up-to-date research and information, worksheets, some useful stretches and neuromobilisation techniques (total game-changer for me!), as well as meditations and yoga classes specifically designed with chronic pain in mind. Pranayama (the yogic art of breathwork) is an area we’ll cover in some depth, as it’s a practice that can be beneficial to everyone, and especially people in pain. Obviously, chronic pain isn’t a simple condition, and it can have a variety of causes – physical, emotional, mental and/or medical – and we can’t cover all of these. However, our mission is to cover as much of the general ground as we could, with a few more specialist sessions targeting back pain, neuropathic pain, emotional/stress related pain, and a few more of the most common causes.

Live Classes

We are offering a limited number of live sessions, and you can apply for one of these by filling in our contact form, including details of your requirements. These sessions will mostly be reserved for individuals with more complex and unique needs, such as those dealing with sudden disability, looking to regain mobility after a serious injury or surgical intervention, and/or struggling to come to terms with their circumstances. Live group sessions will also be available to special populations such as support groups, and public institutions and services.

We are all unique, and as such have unique requirements when it comes to what we need for a yoga, meditation, pranayama or yoga nidra session to be as effective and as safe as it should always be. The focus could be physical, emotional, physiological, spiritual or mental in nature – or any combination of these.
